Photograph an order. See what we read.
Marpass turns a photo of a doctor order, a paper MAR, or a shift schedule into structured data. Every field comes back with a confidence score. You confirm before anything goes live in the eMAR.

The pipeline
Capture, read, verify.
Capture
Snap a photo from any phone camera. No special scanner. No flat-bed required. Marpass handles glare, shadows, and angled shots.
Read
A multi-pass vision model extracts text, then a domain-tuned LLM normalizes it against a standard drug database (RxNorm). Every field gets a confidence score.
Verify
You see the extraction with confidence per field. Anything below 95% is flagged orange. You correct anything that looks wrong before it lands in the eMAR.
What it can read
Four document types. One photo each.
Handwritten doctor orders
Faxed, photographed, or scanned. Cursive, print, mixed. The model has been tuned on AFH-typical handwriting patterns.
Paper MARs and signature sheets
Pulls every resident, every med, every signature line. Matches initials to the staff roster you provide.
License documents and IDs
WA caregiver license, CPR card, food handler card. Auto-fills personnel records and tracks expiration dates.
Shift schedules and rosters
Photograph next week's schedule and Marpass populates assignments. Hand-edited schedules work too.
Safety by design
The AI never goes live without a human.
- Every extracted field shows a confidence score, on-screen, in plain English.
- Anything under 95% confidence is flagged for human review before save.
- You always sign off. Nothing reaches the live eMAR without your approval.
- Photographs are stored encrypted and never used to train external models.
Common questions
What operators ask about the AI.
Is the AI replacing my judgment?
No. The AI is a fast typist with great eyesight. You're still the licensed operator. We surface what we read, with confidence, and ask you to confirm. The pen is in your hand.
What happens if the AI mis-reads a dose?
You see the dose and the confidence score before save. Anything below 95% is flagged. If the AI is uncertain, it tells you instead of guessing. A person reviews and approves every extraction before it reaches a live MAR.
How does this compare to OCR or text-extraction tools?
Generic OCR reads characters. Marpass reads medications. We don't just transcribe "Amox 500", we resolve it to amoxicillin 500 mg capsule, normalize it to a standard drug code (RxNorm), and flag it if your resident has a recorded penicillin allergy.
Where does the photo go?
Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), in U.S. infrastructure under our BAA. The original image is retained for your audit trail and never used to train any model outside Marpass.
Is this HIPAA compliant?
Yes. PHI handling, BAA coverage, access controls, audit logs, and breach notification commitments are all in place. See /security for the full posture.
Bring a doctor order. We'll do the typing.
Request access and we'll run an extraction on a real document of yours during your first session.
